On her second day of sittings for photographer, Horst P. Horst, Stein was featured in her new Balmain suit in a series of poses, some with Basket, one with Balmain, and another with Horst himself and the hands of his lover, Carl Erickson, as he sketches Stein. These were the last portraits anyone made of her, for she died a short time later.
