On March 27, 2009, the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, held "Conservation Panel: New Research on Marcel Duchamp Portraits by Jean Crotti," featuring conservators and curators from the Museum of Modern Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the National Portrait Gallery. The program was held in conjunction with the National Portrait Gallery's exhibition "Inventing Marcel Duchamp: The Dynamics of Portraiture" ( http://www.npg.si.edu/exhibit/duchamp/ ). It explored new research on portraits of Marcel Duchamp by his brother-in-law, Jean Crotti.
