Lansdowne portrait

The National Portrait Gallery belongs to all Americans. Federal funding will always be important as it allows the museum to remain open 364 days per year and free of charge to all. But it is only because of private support that we are able to present compelling exhibitions, engage new audiences through education and outreach, and achieve excellence in conservation and digitization.

All donations made November 8 – 22, 2015 will be directed toward the American Portrait Gala, supporting exhibitions at the National Portrait Gallery.

Or consider joining the museum’s family of supporters as a member of our Portrait Patrons or Portrait Circle programs.
