The National Portrait Gallery will display the portrait of Gregory Peck by Everett Raymond Kinstler to recognize the 100th anniversary of the actor’s birth. One of the great stars of postwar Hollywood, Peck is best known for his Oscar-winning role as Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird (1962). His many honors included the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Screen Actors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award, the AFI Life Achievement Award and the National Medal of Arts.

Kinstler’s oil-on-canvas painting of Peck will be on view in the museum’s “Celebrate” wall on the first floor through April 10.

The Portrait Gallery’s new exhibition “Hollywood and Time: Celebrity Covers” will showcase 32 artworks from the National Portrait Gallery’s Time collection which includes vintage portraits of stars like Marlon Brando, Tom Cruise, Jodie Foster, Dustin Hoffman, Diane Keaton, Paul Newman, Gregory Peck, Robert Redford, Sylvester Stallone, Meryl Streep, Barbra Streisand, Elizabeth Taylor and Robin Williams, as well as Oscar-winning directors Steven Spielberg and Woody Allen. The exhibition will be on view through Sept. 11.
