Inauguration Month at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery
The inauguration month is a great time to visit the National Portrait Gallery’s iconic collection of presidential portraits, and participate in special activities in observance of the 58th presidential inauguration.
Portrait Story Days—Inauguration Month
Saturdays, 1 to 4 p.m.; Sundays, 2 to 5 p.m.
Education Center
Visitors can listen to a story and create art inspired by someone in the museum’s collection. The program is presented in partnership with Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, DC Public Library.

Senior Historian David Ward shares fun-filled facts and little-known tales about the nation’s presidents and the issues they faced.

Building Closures:
• The National Portrait Gallery will close to the public at 2:30 p.m. Jan. 18
Tour Cancellations:
• All docent tours at the Portrait Gallery are cancelled Jan. 18, Jan. 20 and Jan. 21
