Disco Inferno: 70s Night Pop Quiz
Disco might be dead, but we’ll never forget the ’70s. This tumultuous decade was a time of immense change in terms of politics, foreign affairs, societal values, and pop culture. It was a time that saw John Travolta, Cher, Hank Aaron, Richard Nixon, and Blondie, among others, make their mark on history. Altogether, this decade was responsible for what historians refer to as “the pivot of change” in world history.
Please join us on Thursday, November 14, at 6:30 p.m. in the Kogod Courtyard for this month’s Pop Quiz, a trivia night based on the National Portrait Gallery’s expansive collection and the unique accomplishments of our sitters. Pop Quiz can be played individually or in teams of up to six people, and the person or team with the highest score at the end of the night will take home a prize.

The Jackson 5 was a family music group who performed from 1964 to 1990. The group was made up of the Jackson family’s five brothers: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael. Some of their hit songs include “ABC,” “I’ll Be There,” and “Never Can Say Goodbye.” Motown Records signed them in 1968, which quickly accelerated their popularity.
