Founded in 1989 by a group of artists, Day With(out) Art is an international day of action and awareness in response to the AIDS crisis. The program will include a film screening of shorts commissioned by Visual AIDS in the McEvoy Auditorium. Attendees can join curator-led walking tours of the exhibition Felix Gonzalez-Torres: Always to Return or interact with gallery educators and specific pieces in the galleries. The Kogod Courtyard will host art activities, a table from Whitman Walker Health, an oral history listening station and the DC Public Library Book Bike. Additionally, Whitman Walker mobile clinics and the American University Humanities Truck will be parked outside the museum on G Street.
