To kick off Presidents’ Day weekend, the National Portrait Gallery will present its annual Presidential Family Fun Day. The public is welcome to celebrate and discover the U.S. presidents at this free festival for all ages. They can get in the spirit with a performance by the Linton Hall School Fife & Drum Corps and music provided by DJ Farrah Flosscett.
Story times, art activities and workshops will also be offered, including presidential portraiture collage with artist Donna Castellanos, stovepipe hat workshop with the President Lincoln’s Cottage, White House building blocks, Lincoln-inspired sculptures—and more.
Historian Mindy Farmer will also offer tours of the museum’s signature exhibition, “America’s Presidents.” The tours are free; no registration is required.
